Bag lady.
Well yes, I know I've said repeatedly that I'm trying to stick to a budget and remain on something of a spending freeze. But when it's 107 degrees in the shade, carrying a leather purse just doesn't make sense. My daily non-leather bag has been my trusty Overland Donner, but I wanted something a little bit more, I dunno, femmy.
So the UPS man brought this one for my consideration:
It's the Yak Pak Megu, which I've been coveting for oh-so-long, ever since I first saw it here. Oh, I'm such a copycat - but the colors, that green, that orange - I just couldn't bear to get it in any other shade. Although the yellow one is quite nice...
I think I like it, and if this heatwave continues, I'll be a much happier person with birdie-printed cotton canvas touching my shoulder than with a leather strap. Happiness for under forty bucks? Can't beat that.

Hey! I was just about to say, "I have that bag!" until I saw, wow, you remembered! And yeah, I love it still, especially for the hot weather aspect you mentioned. Another canvas tote I have doesn't have enough room under the handles, and gets too close for summer comfort. I do so hate to sweat... my next bag will probably be made of terrycloth. :)
Oh yeah, I remembered. I saw it in a magazine and really liked it, and then you posted about it *on the same day* - so I knew it must be good! But every online shop I tried was sold out or backordered. Yak Pak finally got them back in, and now I'm happy happy happy!
Cute! I wouldn't have been able to resist it either.
I had contemplated ordering this bag at one point, but did not. My question for you is: how many pockets does it have? I'm very big on inside pockets right now...
It has one big zipper pocket, and two little open pockets (which I suppose are intended for cellphone and sunglasses?) inside.
I know what you mean about inside pockets - that Overland Donner bag is such a good example of how it should be! But back when I used to carry a Queen Bee Truckette, I got in the habit of buying cute little pouches, which I'm using with my Yak Pak bag now.
So yeah - the Megu is, pocket-wise, better than the Truckette, but not even close to the Donner.
