Job hunting? It sucks all the joy out of life. Thoroughly and completely.
That is all.
What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?
I'm a Peet's girl all the way. Major Dickason's Blend, specifically. Except for the fact that it's out of my budget for regular consumption - so, I default to Trader Joe's Bay Blend for everyday use.
What is one of your favorite poems?
Submitted by marvel is my pen name.
Coda by Dorothy Parker. Tied with Mrs. Parker's Bohemia.
Why yes - I do have a dark side!
Who was your best (or worst) elementary school teacher?
Submitted by Minnow.
Ms. Dorothy Thomas at Spring Valley Elementary in Chinatown absolutely rocked! She taught the combined 2nd/3rd grade socially inept gifted program, and I had her for both years.
If all of my teachers had been like her, I don't think I would have hated school as much as I did in the years that followed.
If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?

The power to become invisible at will, of course. That would be so many kinds of awesome!
How have people mispronounced your name? How is it supposed to sound?
Submitted by Lorie.
Oh, man. How haven't they mispronounced it?!
It's Marielle. And it's French. So - mah-ree-ell, right? No big deal. It's really not that difficult.
Apparently it is a big deal, because over the years I've grown accustomed to responding to:
Mary-Ell (most common, to the point where I ignore it)
Mary-Lee (makes me cringe and want to hurt people)
Mary-Ellie (apparently many Americans have not heard of the "silent E")
Ma-Relly (WTF?)
Maribel (pretty name, but not my name)
And a laundry list of other "M" names - Miriam, Maryellen, Marcelle, Marisela, Maryann, Marietta, Marlene. And then there's my other name: "Don't you have a nickname?"
What method do you use to prepare your coffee or tea?
Submitted by AgentBouche.
Old-skool Melitta cone. But I'm considering switching to a French press.
