Followers of this here blog know that I've been on the hunt for some boots for quite a while. Indecision, unseasonably warm Southern California weather, and lack of disposable income have kind of put the actual acquisition process on hold.
Waiting is sometimes a good thing, though, because during that waiting period I managed to find these - on sale - on the Sundance Catalog website. They're by Camper, from - gasp, the horror! - last season, and available in my size. I just need for them to remain in stock until next payday, and with luck, they will be mine.
Although one of my favorite garments, a fantastic skirt with floral embroidery embellished with buttons, is from there, I don't shop regularly at J. Jill. For one thing, their salespeople are insufferable - pushy, follow-me-around-making-comments types that are almost enough to make me turn violent. For another, their prices are rather high. And for another, the place makes me feel downright middle-aged.
But. Every now and then they hit on something I really like, such as these fantastic boots. These may be The One. I'm planning to hold out for a sale, but it's going to be hard.

that is, except the price tag, which is high enough that there really
is not much likelihood that any of them will ever be mine.
